This is one of three folders. This folder contains documents pertaining to the designation of the Boyd Smelter generally located west of the Justice Center, south of Cnayon Bolevard and north of Boulder Creek as a historic landmark. Included are historical information about the smelter, biographical notes on James Boyd, Charles Russell and Anton Spier, photocopied maps of the area, ownership lists of Boyd Mill 1873-1972, newspaper clippings about the smelter, correspondence, Cultural resource survey completed by the State Archeologist, and background information on tungsten mining in Boulder County.
